| Abstract: An efficient technique for screening the potential of antagonistic microbes against plant pathogens in a tripartite environment, host tissues, pathogen, and bio-control agent, is needed. The current research presents a prototype to screen the antagonistic potential of Bacillus strains against Alternaria spp. causing leaf spots in mustard using the detached leaf assay technique and ImageJ software. During exploration, two methods were used individually to check the pathogenicity or screening for resistance against plant pathogens. However, the use of these two techniques presents a promising and effective method to bio-assay the potential of antagonistic microbes against plant pathogens in a limited time. The findings also promulgate the technique to screen the potent Bacillus strains against Alternaria spp. efficiently causing a leaf spot in mustard. |
